About this test
If you are between 15 and 21 and have not been licensed before, you must participate in Missouri’s Graduated Driver’s License Program. Beginning at 15, you may apply for your permit by passing a written knowledge test consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions and an additional test on road signs. Information on the exams are pulled from the 2024 Missouri Driver’s Guide. To pass the knowledge exam, you must correctly answer at least 20 of the questions correctly. If you’re under 18, you’ll need to hold your permit for six months before you can take your driving exam and apply for your intermediate license. Those who are over 18 may have the option to take their vision, knowledge, driving, and road signs tests all on the same day. At the MSHP examination office, you’ll be required to show proof of your identity, social security number, and Missouri residency, pay a $3.50 permit fee, and take a vision test. This DOR practice test will help you study for your exam so you can pass on your first attempt.
